What it's like to work with us.

“The team at Shopwell takes the time to understand our business goals and constraints so they can best solve the needs of our ecommerce site, in a way that we can effectively operationalize. What branding solves

A brand is what survives the scroll.

The identity was made for print

A logo and a palette, drawn before ecommerce mattered. No small-scale marks, no interface colors, no rules for a product grid.

Nothing looks related

The site, the emails, the paid social, and the packaging each drift in their own direction. Recognition never accumulates.

Premium positioning, generic execution

The product justifies the price; the storefront doesn't. Customers read the gap immediately and comparison-shop on price instead.

No voice, only features

Product copy that lists specifications rather than saying why this brand exists and who it is for.

Guidelines nobody follows

A 60-page PDF that answers questions your team never asks, and none of the ones they do.

Photography without direction

Shoots that look great in isolation and fight each other on a collection page — the most expensive inconsistency in ecommerce.

What we help with

Identity that holds up in the cart.

01

Positioning & messaging

Who you're for, what you're against, and the language that makes the price make sense — written to be used on real pages.

02

Visual identity

Logo system, type, color, and layout built to work at favicon size, in a product grid, and on a phone in daylight.

03

Art direction

Photography and content direction so every shoot adds to the same brand rather than starting a new one.

04

Digital brand system

Components, states, and patterns translated into the storefront — the point where most identities quietly break.

What's included

A brand system your whole team can use.

Scoped to where your brand is under the most strain — and usually paired with ecommerce design and Shopify development so the identity ships instead of sitting in a PDF.

Our process

Positioning first. Pretty second.

01

Discover

Interviews, customer research, and a hard look at the category — before anyone reaches for a typeface.

02

Position

The strategic decisions: who you're for, what you claim, and what you refuse to be. Agreed before design begins.

03

Design

Identity built and pressure-tested on real applications — product page, email, ad, package — not on a moodboard.

04

Roll out

Systems, files, and guidelines handed over — and, in most cases, implemented by us across the storefront.

Why Shopwell

Branding from a studio that has to live with the result.

We build what we brandThe identity gets implemented by the same studio, so it survives contact with a real storefront.
Tested on real applicationsEvery direction is shown on a product page and an email, not just a moodboard — you approve reality.
Commercially groundedPositioning tied to margin, category, and who actually buys — brand as a business decision.
Systems, not documentsComponents and rules your team can apply on Monday without asking us for permission.

The difference

Not a brand book. A working system.

FAQ

Deciding questions, straight answers.

Do we need a full rebrand, or just a refresh?

Most brands need a refresh and an extension, not a rebrand. If the name and equity are working, we keep them and build the digital system the original identity never included. A full rebrand is worth it when the positioning itself has changed.

Will a rebrand hurt our search rankings or conversion?

Not if the rollout is planned. Domain changes, URL changes, and content rewrites are where equity gets lost — we sequence those deliberately, with redirects and monitoring, because we do SEO and development in the same studio.

Do you design packaging and print too?

We provide art direction and design for packaging, print, and campaign assets. For specialist production — structural packaging engineering, for example — we direct and work alongside your producer.

How long does a branding project take?

A focused identity project runs 6 to 10 weeks. Combined with a storefront design and build, expect 12 to 20 weeks total — running in parallel so the brand is tested on real pages rather than in isolation.

What do we actually receive?

Logo system and files, type and color systems, art direction and photography guidance, voice and messaging, digital component patterns, and usage guidelines your team and partners can work from without asking us.

Can you work with our existing brand guidelines?

Yes — often the job is extending a strong print-era identity into the places it was never designed for: product pages, email, paid social, and mobile. We work with what earns its keep and rebuild only what's failing.
